Problem with sold to thin wall

Using the trial version of solid edge st5 to find out if it will do what my company needs for a lot of future work.

I have a very complex solid ( import from STP file produced by 3D scanning of an item).
I need to make a "shell" replica, as if it were a rotary injection moulded item, with 3mm thick walls, so I can run a stress test on it to ensure the final item will stand up to the use needed.

I cant seem to get the thin wall command to work to produce this, as the item is a complete solid. If I import it as a set of surfaces, and stitch them myself, there is no "thicken" command any more in ST5 like there was in ST3.

Any suggestions ?

If You want to use the "thicken" command just look at the Home tab under the Solids group and find the submenu under sweep feature the last icon is the "thicken" command.

As for the thin wall just select the command and enter the offset of 3mm, the next step will ask You for an open face don't select any and click preview and You'll get the shell object if You want to check create a section view. (try to use in on ordered mode I have found a bug in synchronous)

You possibly have some very small surfaces that, when offset, will intersect each other.
