I made a solid tube using the variable sweep function. This tube passes though a surface of revolution. When I try to use the 'solidify' function to trim the tube to the surface, the 'trouble shooter' popup appears, and the operation fails. There is a message saying, 'single edged curve' or something to that effect. Any words of wisdom out there?

It sounds as though the revolved surface does not completely intersect the sweep.

Does it point you to the edge in question?

It does completely intersect. I tried cutting the tube with a plane, and that works. But the revolved surface does not. I even tried making an extruded surface by using the edge of the revolved surface, but that fails too.

Maybe then you can try making the Sweep as a surface (with capped ends) and then merge that with the revolved surface. As long as the resulting merge is a fully closed surface, you should then be able to solidify it.
