I started making a spreadsheet in a part file under tools->spreadsheet. I wasn't finished setting up the spreadsheet with the dimensions, but added some formatting. After closing the excel spreadsheet I saved it. Then after a while I opened it again and I get an error "could not connect to spreadsheet". I tried restarting my computer, other part files work. Is there anyway to fix it. I was thinking of a journal to clear the spreadsheet data so I can start over. Maybe another easier way would exist.

What versions of NX and Excel are you using?

Well it shouldn't be a compatibility issue.

Now when you say you saved the spreadsheet, are we talking about going to the Excel File -> Save menu or responding to the dialog that NX puts up asking whether you want to save the current spreadsheet data or not? Using the Excel File -> Save does not save the spreadsheet data in the NX part file, that only happens if you hit OK when the NX dialog comes up ask whether you wish to save the current Spreadsheet data.

As for removing the spreadsheet data from an existing NX part file, yes, that can be done by going to...

File -> Utilities -> Part Cleanup...

...and in the last section of the dialog you'll see an option to 'Delete Spreadsheet Data'. Just toggle it ON and hit OK.

I had hit ok to the nx dialog after closing the spreadsheet.

Deleting the spreadsheet with part clean up got rid of it so that now I can at least start over. Thanks, I forgot about part cleanup.
