DENSAL55,

The file you need is the acad.mns file which controls the drop down menus and toolbars. It should have been installed with Autocad. Do a search to see where it has been put, probably somewhere under the "documents and settings" directory. Then run Autocad and load the mns file in the Tools>Menus dialog box. Once you get the menu working it should be ok until Autocad is quit. Unless the menu file is in the search path it won't be found the next time Autocad is started. See my hints how to fix the settings to do this in thread555-149614.

If you are still having problems post more info about what is happening.

Hi mrMikee,

When autocad is installed for the first time it run ok,But when i shutdown the computer and i restart, i loss all the toolbar and the menus items except File, View, Window, and Help.
I done a search for file Acad.mns, it doesn't exist.
The only items Menu that remains is File, View, Window, and Help, Thus i can't use tools>Menus dialogue box.
When i select View>Toolbar Menus Item it doesn't respond.
The File acad.cui exist but when i try to load it i get <<invalid file>> response.
In the Option dialogue box the path for the file customised is correct.
When Autocad start i get invalid File surely it means <<acad menu file>>.

Thanks.

Try typing "menu" and then navigate to the acad.cui. Or is that the way you are doing it already?

I have already done this.
thank.

DENSAL55,

I'm working with 2004 and 2005 now so if something has changed with the setup process I can't give you much help. I have never worked with the acad.cui file for example. But on my system I found the acad.mns file in the directory:

c:\documents and settings\[username]\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD\2005\R16.1\enu\support

where [username] would be your username

Maybe the acad.cui would be there too. The important thing is that all files used by AutoCAD need to be located and the Tools>Options dialog under the Files tab is the place to do it.

As IFRs mentioned typing "menu" on the command line will access the same menu dialog box.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

The cui file and other mnu/mns/mnc files need to be in the autocad search path. Options / Files / Customization

The cui file are in the autocad search path. Options / Files / Customization

is there any possible conflict between acad 2006 and othere application such 3ds/Max or othere.

I experienced this issue. Pls find following steps for solution:
1. Delete user profile: logoff current account then logon with one of administrators, click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Systems->User Profiles, delete the user which acad didn't work under it.
2. Logoff and logon again with your account

Above actions will recreate a new user profile for you. Hope this helps.
