Hi guys,
I'm trying to simulate the impact of skid landing gear for a helicopter with a surface using Abaqus. I used shell elements to model the cross-beams and skids. I'm trying to connect them using weld connectors and to use four reference points two on each cross tube to represent the points where the beams are attached to the fuselage) and the fifth RP represents the center of gravity of the helicopter. Four beam connectors are being used to connect the C.G. (RP #5)with Rp #1 to 4. Could any one help by telling a new abaqus user how to use both types of connectors and how can define them correctly in the model to give the desired impact scenario?
Thank you for your time.
