I have a completed machine assembly with all of the required layout drawings and detail drawings. My customer wants an opposite hand assembly and only the layout drawing is rquired on this hand.

How do I go about mirroring an entire assembly in SWX 2003? I have looked in the Help section and all I can find is mirroring parts. I don't want to have to mirror each part, then have to remate everything.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you,
Lori

If you only need the assembly for layouts and images, then maybe you don't need the mates. Just fix the mirrored components so they don't move.

To fix a component, right-click on the component in the feature manager and pick "fix". To "unfix", choose "float".

There is a checkbox for copying the mates when mirroring components.

I did a little experiment (curious tick that I am). I took an assembly ("assembly1"), and placed it as the sole component in another assembly ("assembly2"). I was able to select "assembly1" and mirror that just fine.
