Produced Water Treatment

i work in oil and gas company , the produced water TDS about 240,000 PPM we want to decease it to 40,000 PPM so we can safely disposal it to the sea , what is the best process or Technic we can use for reducing TDS to the accepted limit. i search the forum and found the following closed thread inquiry also about the same subject thread164-330629
also What is the best Produced Water Treatment Packages & Systems Suppliers for treated water before disposal it to reduce oily water content , BOD ,COD & TDS ?

The only technique that one may use is to evaporate the solution with a mechanical evaporator.

Whatever method you use you have to make sure the treated water is not toxic to aquatic life. Water, for example, produced from reverse osmosis is toxic to aquatic life

There is no technology available that will reduce the TDS. You are looking at evaporation, solar or mechanical.

There are Brine concentrators installed in Oman (elsewhere as well) for the same range of TDS, influent being Produced water from Steam flood. Evaporation technology is applied in principle

The only way is a form of desalination plant. In your case you don't have to get to fresh water standard, but only seawater ( ~35,000ppm) standard)

If this was easy we would all be drinking de-salinated seawater....
