Hi

I am trying to convert ProE-files to STEP and then importing the step to I-deas,it works but the model turns out the be non-solid.

My question is what are the optimal settings in ProE wildfire 2.0 (step-converter) to get a solid model in I-Deas ,and what settings should i use when i import the Step-file in I-deas.

I am using ProE Wildfire 2.0 and I-deas NX10 m3

The I-deas STEP translator incorporates a tolerance during translation. I believe it's called Planar Tolerance. It's visible on the STEP import dialog in I-deas and the default is set to something like 0.005 or 0.001, which is relatively tight. If your Pro/E model has a LOOSER (higher) tolerance, you'll never get a solid in I-deas until you either match or loosen (increase) the Planar tolerance with the Pro/E modeling tolerance.

I imagine that the Pro/E STEP translator also incorporates tolerancing, so you may have to increase it a little more yet again.

You didn't specify whether you adjusted the STEP tolerance in I-deas, so that's the first thing I'd try.
