I recently bought PROE20 build 9833 at a yard sale. It is the original disks but the installation disk was not with it. I contacted PTC to get it and was basically told NO and not very nicely either! That they own the disks and that they would not activate them. I just wanted the program for my home use and to try it out to see if I liked it and to learn it. From there I could have recommended it to my place of employment. Don't think I will do so now. Can anybody help me get the program installed?

Pro/E like most other cad packages is licensed. You buy the license not the cds. This means it can not be resold or transfered. Don't get mad at pro/E for this all cad packages are this way and the newest Microsoft stuff is the same. The guy should have never sold the CDs acording to the license agreement he signed.

You can get a free 15 day trail license from the PTC webpage if you want to try it. You can also buy the student edition cheaply.

The only problem I have with PTC licenseing is that you can not transfer a license if you stop using the software. ProEpro
