When a recruiter asks for a professional designation (while possessing my resume,) what exactly is the recruiter asking for?

I've never had someone ask me if I had a professional designation.

P.E., EIT, or some of the special structural letter groups? Who knows what a recruiter is talking about at any given moment.

Well, the position is for an EIT and my resume states "EIT" in big bold letters and in my email signature.

Ask the recruiter and you might find out. Unfortunately, you might get an answer like “it required for the form and I am not sure.” If the recruiter does not know, tell them again that you are an EIT.

Is he looking for something like:
Junior Engineer, Engineer, Project Engineer, Associate etc. etc.

Hmm- the recruiter doesn't understand what they're recruiting! Not the first time that's happened!

You see lots of Certified Project Mangager (CPM) and such acronyns these days; (or is that certified procurement manager?).
