Professional Designation?

When a recruiter asks for a professional designation (while possessing my resume,) what exactly is the recruiter asking for?

I've never had someone ask me if I had a professional designation.

Well, the position is for an EIT and my resume states "EIT" in big bold letters and in my email signature.

Ask the recruiter and you might find out. Unfortunately, you might get an answer like “it required for the form and I am not sure.” If the recruiter does not know, tell them again that you are an EIT.

Junior Engineer, Engineer, Project Engineer, Associate etc. etc.

You see lots of Certified Project Mangager (CPM) and such acronyns these days; (or is that certified procurement manager?).
