Has anybody created a program (macro, journal, GRIP, etc.) that you can run on a batch of NX files which will add attributes and attribute values to the files and then save the file. We have a few hundred files that we may need add attributes to for an easier migration.

Creating a program like that would not be that difficult (even GRIP, which is all but obsolete, could handle this without working up a sweat), however if anyone has even done that, it's likely that it would be unique to the authors situation.

While I know that this doesn't help you at the moment, I would advice that you not dwell too much on this or consider making a big investment since in NX 8.0 we've enhanced Attributes such that you can define an Attribute template both for your template part files as well as catalogs which can be shared with everyone in your organization. The good news is that these don't have to be 'executed' but simply accessed when you need to 'set' an attribute (a new term due to the fact that you can now have pre-defined, yet 'unset' attributes, in either a template part or a common catalog which are only added to a file when an attribute is 'set').

And if you have a GRIP execute license, I'd be willing to look into creating a simple program for you which would read say a text file containing a list of name/value pairs of attributes which you wish to add to say all the part files in a folder.

Yes we have GRIP execute and would be interested in your solution. It will be awhile (years) before we are on NX 8 or later.
