I'm looking for a program to help fill in part attributes prior to generating a parts list.
Does anyone have one they would share?
I'm fairly new to UG & am not sure what type of program would be best suited, GRIP, MACRO, JOURNAL, ???.
Currently I'm manually opening Properties & filling in the four attributes after I've first opened Expressions & read the X,Y & Z size, or just measured the part in the few cases where there's no Expression or it's a purchased item.
Most designs will have well over 100 components to do this to & some can go over 300.
I would appreciate opinions & experiences on the best way to set this up since I'm doing it from scratch & am not constrained by legacy.
NX5 / Die design.

Thanks in advance,
James

Attached is a simple GRIP program which will assign a limited number of Part Attribute to a file. Please review the comments in the source file for an explanation of the exactly what the program does. If nothing else, it will at least show you how to go about entering and creating Part Attributes using a GRIP program.

Thanks very much John. I'll down load this & read through it.
