Dear colleagues,

I am are looking for valves that can be programmed to shut off after a pre-determined volume of water has flowed. Any information or leads on likely valve manufacturers are gratefuly welcome. Thanks

The task your describe is four functions - flow meter measures the flow rate, totalizer totalizes the flow volume, batch controller trips at the pre-determined volume setpoint (preset), valve shuts the flow off.

I'm sure there are flow metering packages out there that turn a valve off. But it all depends on whether you're metering 3cc's over a 5 seconds or 3 million gallons/hour.

Industrial batch/totalizers always have an electrical output (relay) that trips when the preset batch total is achieved. That output is typically used to turn a valve off or to signal to turn a valve off.

Industrial magnetic flowmeters (suitable for water service) always have a totalizer built-in. Higher end models have some form of batch control with a preset setpoint for a relay output. Usually, some external control logic is needed to reset the totalizer at the beginning of a run (will someone be standing there to press a button?).
