Hi,
I'm a .net programmer and I'm new to UG. We are using NX5.
I took a look at the "cast" library and I don't find the product to difficult. I was told that is possible to automate things in UG and this is what I would like to do.

Where and how do I start? I was told that the best programming solution is to use the "JT Open toolkit". I also took a look at the "grip" programs.

Are there any websites and/or books that will help me start?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you.

You really want to look at Journaling as that's probably the best route if your goal is to automate your day-to-day tasks. While GRIP is a great tool, it is also basically obsolete and while we still maintain it, it no longer receives any enhancements and is supported more for its importance as a legacy tool rather than as something that we would expect new users to be using. As for the 'JT tool kit' this is highly specialized and generally is used when having to import/export 3D representations of NX models for use by other applications or products.
