I am trying to project a sketch onto a surface but it ends up being a cosmetic feature and cannot be used in sweeps.

I tried to do a Datum curve (through legacy) onto a surface, but after selecting a surface to project to, Pro won't accept the surface. The command just hangs!!

Pro/E WildFire 2.0 Date Code M160

Thanks,

Todd

What do you mean by "through legacy"?

If you have a curve and a surface, Select the curve then use Edit - Project; the direction can be specified

This can then be used as a trajectory in a sweep

What's the problem?

I was using the legacy commands. Old Pro/E user coming back from a 3 year stint in SolidWorks.

The project command using the legacy commands "hung" while selecting surfaces.

You solved my problem. Thanks!!

What did you think of SolidWorks, and is it a job change that has brought you back from the dark side?
