Projecting planes from 3D into an isometric view

I am trying to define a projection plane on a drawing. I have projected the required view from 3D using the sketch plane and I thought the clearest way to illustrate this in 2D would be to show the plane on an isometric view with an explanatary note. Is it possible to project a plane and the global axis into an isometric view?
I have attached a screen shot which hopefully explains the problem - I cannot think how I would have done this on the board - anyone any suggestions please.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do from your description but it sounds like you want to get a true view of a surface on a 2D drawing. You could just add a view to your drawing, switch to the 3d window and pick The face that you want to go true to. But if you wanted to do it the "correct" way, using orthographic projection/descriptive geometry, you would create an auxiliary view 90° to a straight edge of the surface, then to create another auxiliary view looking down the same edge as in the previous step, this will give you the edge of view of the surface. Then create a final auxiliary view 90° to the edge view of the surface for a true view. This link is some good references for descriptive geometry

Thanks for your input. I realized after I had posted that I could do what you have suggested and end up with the drawing showing the correctly defined projection. By the way is it possible to project planes and axis from 3D to 2D?

No, 3D planes and axis systems are ignored when projecting into a drawing.

But there are workarounds:

For the planes, draw a thin pad where the plane symbol is, and that pad will be projected into all the views.

For the Axis Systems, draw three lines representing the X, Y, and Z axis. These lines will be projected into the views with the View Properties include 3D Wireframe.
