Hi All,

Not quite sure whether this is the right place to pose this question ... but here goes anyway.

I'm looking for a fairly comprehensive list of large projects which have used (or intend to use) continuous MEG injection as the primary hydrate prevention strategy.

So far I have come up with the following:

Asgard in Norway
Snohvit in Norway
Orman Lange in Norway
Troll in Norway
Gjoa in Norway
KGD6 Reliance in India
Browse in Australia
Ichthys in Australia

I am sure there are others, but I am yet to find a comprehensive list?

This will be an extensive piece of research and is more likely to be the domain of process/flow assurance, or possibly pipeline, engineers who have kept a library of their own. What is your aim of assembling such a listing since you have captured some pretty major projects already.

Hi SJones,

I did start a Flow Assurance sub forum here but it was so poorly visited that it got closed down, which was a shame. guess flow assurance is still a little to specialised :)

I'm asking because I am currently involved in developing what will probably be the most extensive and complicated continuous MEG injection systems ever built. Therefore I am trying to build up a knowledge base of what has been done before and lessons learnt.

I am sure there are others that I am not aware of. By compiling the list I hope to research those to assist me in the development of my current project. :)

Dear CFD,

See if you can find a listing of low temperature projects or some projects where gas lift was used from the beginning. I would expect those systems to have continuous MEG injection.

Cheers,
S.

I commissioned the British Gas (BG) Rashpetco LNG plant near Alexandria Egypt a few years ago and it uses mega amounts of MEG. Continually injecting from the beach to the offshore installation through every flowline and then being recovered at point of injection.
