I'm working with a client who lost some of their historical documentation a while back (natural disaster). As a long shot I thought I'd ask the engineers here if they may have information.
My goal is to analyze a pair of long-span double-circuit structures to get an approximate modern extreme wind rating.
We have a custom ACSR conductor, 807mcm 46Al/61St, 1.28" outer diameter, ultimate strength = 72,000 lbs. I also have a few design tensions and the wind spans from the design drawings if that would help. The last consultant to work on this span used a modified "Drake" wire file (795mcm 26/7), which I don't think will be very close. The back spans from these structures go very quickly down to anchors (~1:4 H:V), so the tensions play a huge role in vertical loads on the towers.
From what I have I can calculate the individual strand diameters, total Al and St areas, and approximate weight per foot.
What I can't calculate are the tensions at various modern load cases.
I'm looking for a tool or source to either approximate the tensions or generate a PLS .wir file. Alternately would be a .wir file for some other 46/61 ACSR that I can scale.
Thanks in advance
