Hej guys

I have a question regarding the property manager.

How do I connect the property manager to the drawing, so that the text in the property manager updates the text on the drawing head.
I want to only type my text in on the part, and then it should update the drawing automatically.

For example if I type in the drawing name, or revision etc.

At the moment I use the "file properties" under the "file" tab, but it does not update the drawing so I have to do it on the drawing file also.

I know it can be done, but how??????

If I read you correctly what you want to do is create attributes with text values that you can type in to change standard text of the face of the drawing. Probably in the title block.

Create a drawing and than create an attribute in the File>Properties using the attributes tab. Let us say the attribute title is NAME and the text string for the attribute is WIDGET.

You can add a note based on that attribute by going into Add text, and opening the full text editor. Next you should look for the relationships tab, click on Part Attribute and select NAME. The text <W@NAME> should result and the note will read WIDGET. If you edit the attribute to something else then the note on the drawing will change.

We just recently had a thread about wanting to access different attributes from components being drawn using the master model method. That is more difficult and not so advisable because of the complexity involved. I have nevertheless included the link to that thread below.
