Alot of sources are reporting just a minimum range for the tensile strength of 1026. Do you know any source to find a suggested range for tensile and yield, instead of just a minimum.

I have searched alot of sources, including Mil handbook and Metals Handbook. They all appear to report the minimum tensile of 1026 and not a range.

As you already know, strength depends on thermomechanical processing, chemistry, etc. Some additional data to the minimums that you already have:

Hot-rolled wire from electric arc furnace
two cooling rates-- fast & slow

Fast - yield = 43 ksi (295 MPa), tensile = 74 ksi (510 MPa), elongation = 30%

Slow - yield = 45 ksi (310 MPa), tensile = 80 ksi (550 MPa), elongation = 25%

This data is from a U.S. domestic steel mill, listed as typical. Most 1026 is used for tubing or bars, this data may not be of much value if you require properties for cold-drawn bars.

dont have 1026 in my Guide to Engineered Materials.... (AMP December 2001)

But I do have 1022 and 1030:

SAE 1022: SAE 1030:
As Rolled (hot rolled):
UTS: 73ksi 80ksi
Yeild: 52ksi 50ksi
Elong: 35% 32%
Area Reduc: 67% 57%
Brinnel Hard: 149 179
Izod Impact: 60ft*lbf 55ft*lbf

Normalized at 1700F:
UTS: 70ksi 76ksi
Yeild: 52ksi 50ksi
Elong: 34% 32%
Area Reduc: 68% 61%
Brinnel Hard: 143 149
Izod Impact: 87ft*lbf 69ft*lbf

Annealed at 1600F:
UTS: 65ksi 67ksi
Yeild: 46ksi 50ksi
Elong: 35% 31.2%
Area Reduc: 64% 58%
Brinnel Hard: 137 126
Izod Impact: 89ft*lbf 51ft*lbf

I think that several of the values above are wrong:
yeild for 1030 all coditions. (shouldn't this be higher than 1022?)
Izod Impact for 130 annealed condition. (shouldnt the impact energy absortion increase for annealed steel?)

Hope this Helps!
