Nowadays the consumer refrigerator are all smart controlled including sensors etc.
However, each manufacture make their own motherboard, which is not exchangeable.
When it went wrong, no where else can purchase a replacement.
In view of the computer systems developed in the past 40 years, each interface has a stand,
if one component went we can purchase a replacement easily with little money.
I would propose someone can draw an international standard similarly for refrigerators.
Thanks.

It's in the manufacturer's interest to have you buy a new refrigerator if something goes wrong with yours after 10 years, not repair it.

There is no consumer demand for the bits and pieces of a refrigerator to mix and match, and work with another manufacturer's bits and pieces, like the way computer equipment is expected to be. A refrigerator is expected to be plugged in and work, and that's the end of it.

Therefore ... not gonna happen.
