Hello eng-tips!
May I ask what is the correct/normal practice in selecting PSV/PRV? All I know from API 520 Part 1 is:
1. PSV is for gas service,
2. PRV is for liquid service.
3. Non-flowing pilot PRV is recommended if there is a possibility of hydrate formation/icing in the outlet.
I am looking for the suitable application for each of:
1. conventional
1.1 PRV
1.2 PSV
2. bellow type
2.1 PRV
2.2 PSV
3. Pilot:
3.1 Pop, non-flowing
3.2 Pop, flowing
3.3 Modulating, non-flowing
3.4 Modulating, flowing
Thank you in advance.
