Is there any rule of thumb for stressing sequence? Additional reference to your recommendations would be appreciated.
And does it defers in case of pretensioning?

Are you talking about suspended PT slab/beam systems in buildings and what elements should be stressed first/second etc., or whether to start stressing in the middle of slab and work towards the edges?

I think you mean 'differs in the case of pretensioning' - and yes, always POST-tension AFTER you PRE-tension :)

Give us some more info so we can better assist.

And is it bonded or unbonded PT? How much reinforcement has been supplied in the member? Is it a transfer member?

RE Pretensioning,it would be the release sequence that matters. Stressing sequence does not impart any stresses on the concrete.
