Dear all,
Can anyone tell me if there is likely to be a problem with curing an epoxy prepreg onto a PU foam, in terms of chemical compatibility? We are having some problems achieving full cure of the prepreg and I'm not sure whether or not this is due to some kind of reaction / leaching effect - any thoughts?

Some prepregs are afected by moisture cure during. Particularly anhydride cured epoxy, and cyanate resins. PU foam is likely to contain significant amounts of absorbed moisture (it may even have been rained on). Its also possible that the foam is not completely cured. Both problems can be helped by baking the foam at, or above, cure temperature prior to lamination with prepreg. The foam will start to reabsorb moisture from the air after drying. If the drying temperature is less than 220F it takes a long time.
