Publication. Does it require special licensing?

I am interested in learning about and using publication. Reading through the CATIA documentation, it says to select "Tools > Publication" to get started.

Is there a special license required? There is no publication entry in my tools menu either in Part design, or assembly design.

I'm using V5 R20

I hope this isn't the stupidest question on the forum.

I think you need an ASD license for the Assembly Design workbench -- Tools - Publication. I verified with a colleague as he has an AS1 license. The Tools - Options - General - License tab will give you a run down of the modules you have. I see from his license he could be getting the publications from either CCV (core/cavity separation) or FMP (Functional Molded Part). His other modules include GS1 (Generative Shape Design 1), HA1 (Healing Assistant 1), and a list of other 1 level products.

Hmmm. Our only license is "CAC" which allows for Part design, Assembly design, and Drafting. I suppose I do not have publication abilities then.

Nick, we have it with our MD2 license, and use publications extensively with the Part Design workbench.

It's especially useful when replacing linked objects!
