Hi Everybody:

Anybody ever tried publishing individual features on a part and programming to it ?? and had any success ???. We have a family of parts (only 15-25 features (faces)) and we would like to publish every individual feature on the part to ease programming. Unfortunately it is not allowing to copy and paste (..as result with link) the published features to the NCGeometry.CATPart. The only paste option is "As Specified in Part Document" and even that gives an error "The Destination is not valid". Are we doing something wrong? There are no issues with the published whole design. Pasting with (as a result with link) works well ...

Is publishing individual features different from publishing the whole part... and if so can somebody please explain. All suggestions are greatly appreciated . Thank you all in advance for your kind replies.

With regards

Hello,

Will that be a problem to extract faces and then publish those surfaces ?

My guess is that you are trying to copy/paste a face and that I dunno if it works. If you extract the face, then you can for sure copy and paste the resulting surface element, published or not.

Again, I am just guessing here...

Hope this will help

I concur with itsmyjob. Try extracting the faces/surfaces you want, then copy/paste as result with link those surfaces. That should work.

I believe you can only do the "as result with link" for complete part bodies or free-standing geometric entities, but not actual features within a part.
