Pump capacity

We are currently planning to attach a supply hose to an existing pipeline through a three way valve (in combination with non-return valves to avoid cross-contamination). We purchased a solenoid metering pump with a capacity of 2 bars @ 32 l/h and connector size 12x9 to supply a 40% nitric acid solution at a flow rate of ~1L/min through this new hose. The problem is that the existing hoses are connected to a pump with a capacity of 16 bars @ 1.1 l/h using hoses sized 8x5. Will we be able to get away with using a compression adapter and connect a 8x5 hose to the new pump? or something like running a 12x9 hose up until the port connection to the three way valve and use a reducer. Your advice will be much appreciated.
