I have a submersible pump that sits in mud/water and have found it to have a starting torque of 67 ft*lbs or less than ~40 ft*lbs after the weight of the pump is deducting. I am trying to develop a a stand for the pump to be hung from and set in the mud to prevent the pump from falling over when starting up and avoid submersing too deep in the mud? Could anyone offer some advice on how to calculate this force I must overcome with this start up pump torque?

Thanks.

First, you don't deduct the weight of the pump.
See the COE Tech Manual attached.
Its a self extracting zip, hence the .exe extension.

"Pumping accounts for 20% of the world’s energy used by electric motors and 25-50% of the total electrical energy usage in certain industrial facilities."-DOE statistic (Note: Make that 99% for pipeline companies)
