Pump trps on high current

A pump always trip on high current before even the pump reaches the design flow rate.
The pump rated flow is 20 m3/hr and now it is operating continuously at 7 to 8 m3/hr.
The pump does not have a minimum recycle line.

Both pump and motor recently have been serviced and after the startup the motor triped on high current even before reaching the one third of the design flow rate.

What could be the problem knowing that the motor should not reach the high current only when the pump reaches the design flow rate.
Is it the piping or what???

Where are you measuring flow? If you have a long pipe that is empty when the pump starts, there may actually be much more than rated flow for a period before there is any measurement of flow.

I can't tell without a lot more info.

Can you post the pump curve and motor details.

What was done in the "service"?
Did it work OK before it was serviced?

Some things which you can check easily.

Is the motor receiving the voltage and frequency it is rated for?
Is the motor going the right way around? (Pump will work but inefficiently). This is very easy to get wrong in a three phase supply.
Is this a PD pump or a centrifugal pump?

Has someone changed the impellor size?
Have you changed the fluid duty?

Please describe the pump duty and system ( a diagram always helps

Remember - More details = better answers
