Hi,
I built a 3D bridge model to analyze the seismic pushover analysis in SAP. The brige is just a single span integral bridge.
The soil has been modeled as one-joint link members, link property defined as multi-linear elastic (P-y curve input according to geo-technical engineer).
The piles are steel piles at about 1000 mm spacing center to center.
A few questions re. this model:
1. soil property is multi-linear elastic, or multi-linear plastic? which one should be used? My intension is just to do static pushover analysis, rather than time-history analysis.
2. hinger properties, since this project is not in USA, i have to define my own hinge properties. I defied M2-M3 interaction curve, like Mxdemand/Mxcapactiy+Mxdemand/Mycapacity=1.0. How to define the moment rotation curve, or moment curvature curve, please?
3. hinge assignments: I selected all the steel piles and assigned hinges to all segments (because of conveniency of inputing link property, piles have been devided into many small elements). and assigned hige overwrites as well. but when i run my full push over analysis for Earthquake-x (for example), SAP could not get to the final step. It sometimes said 'could not find a solutioin', or 'maximum null steps reached'. Can anybody knows the triks inside?
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
