Over the past few years I have seen a process that uses putty-like material that is impregnated with abrasive to give a smooth finish to geometrically challenged parts. The putty is forced in and out of the part causing a honing action. I can not think of or find the company name. Aerospace uses them for blades and vane holes.

I have used a company called EXTRUDE HONE for smoothing out internal and complex passages.
