Hello,
We completed welding fabrication of pressure retain parts for air cooler and also finished PWHT. However, we are find some rejectable defects in the pressure retaining parts after PWHT.
Therefore, we would like to repair and complete without PWHT in accordace with ASME Sect.VIII Div.1 UCS-56(f)because we can meet the the requirement of UCS-56.

API661 for the air cooled heat excahanger which is described like " All caron steel and low-alloy steel headers shall be subjected to PWHT."

Question) Do we have to perform PWHT after repair welding?
The header(Carbon steel) was designed in according to ASME Set.VIII.

Reply; No, provided the requirements are UCS-56 are met for P-No 1 material, AND your contract documents for the item do not specify a final (after any weld repairs) PWHT.
