QA/QC for Industrial Construction?

Is there a good system, standard, or publication for Industrial Construction QA/QC? ISO9000 doesn't seem to help me in developing a Construction QA/QC program. Thoughts?

ISO 9000 standard just reflects the requirements but how a company actually implements the requirements is up to the company.

I would still recommend ISO 9000 since it is a world standard but you may have to get a Consultant for system design and implementation.

Although I have been a Consultant for over 20 years (don't do it any more), I can give you some advice.

Make sure the Consultant is a certified ASQ Quality Engineer and then check out the companies that they have implemented systems.

Also, make sure that they do not want to hire more people for systems implementation. Systems today are integrated into your present work force. Some companies that I have had systems input did hire someone for the document and data control methods but that should be it.

Get certified then you can advertise the company with the ISO signs that you might see on the outside of factories, trucking companies, etc.
