Our contract welder is insisting that for our hard facing (625 onto 316) weld clad that we have to have a butt weld tension and root & face bend test? My understanding under section 9 is that we can test the clad in bend and this is acceptable, it seems a butt weld (316-316 using 625 filler) is not relavent or neccesary. I think I may be wrong?
Secondly is the bend former limtied to 2T as the welder has specced to the test house to use 4T, at 180, can we not sepcify this - ie 4T at 90 or 2T at 90?
Thirdly this has all been carried out on tube as the final product will be tube, but is it possible that we can use plate of the same thickness, I can't seem to find any guidance in section 9 about this.
