Qualification required for generator service/maintenance

Hello,

What qualifications are required for a person to perform service and maintenance of standby/emergency generators? Except for being trained by the manufacturer, does the personnel require licensed electrician or journey-person certification in order to be qualified to perform generator service and maintenance.

That depends on local regulations. Talk to your insurance agent as to what qualifications the insurance company will require before writing an insurance policy, or what qualifications a service man must have to be covered under your policy when working on your machine.
