Requirments for VR shops are contained in the licensing & cerification documentation of the National Board, Publication NB-23; the specifics are in section RA-220. There is a gentleman handle ALTON who is a commissioned inspector with the NB, who monitors and participates in some of these forums, I believe. He can answer a specific question on this topic, but the first requirment of any inspection of an accredited competent shop is that they have an up to date copy of the Publication, as well as the other NB standards.

If you are dealing with such a shop, they will have the VR requirmeents on hand, or you can buy them from the NB .

You will need to purchase the Publication number NB-23, NBIC, 2004 EDITION, as sterl mentioned. However, the Reference which were in RA-2200 have been split in to two sections. RA-2200 contains the Adminstrative Rules which includes in RA-2255 an outline of the QC Manual Requirements. The implementation requirements have been moved to Part RE. A National Board "VR" Certified SHop must also have the current edition of the applicable ASME Code and a copy of the National Board publication NB-18, Pressure Relief Device Certification, less than a year old. NB-18 can be downloaded from the National Board Website
