Dear Sir
I am in the process of procuring eccentric reducer as per attached material test certificate. Our requirement was seamless eccentric reducer but the one which i could find is welded eccentric reducer. Our engineers gave an acceptance subjected manufacturer is qualifying the reducer design in accordance with ASME B16.9 (either by computer analysis or proof test).
Now if you see attached material test certificate, the reducer is certified to be as per ASME B16.9. However, it does not state that it is qualified by which method.
So my query is:
1) Are there any other methods apart from computer analysis and proof test to qualify a fitting as per ASME B16.9.
2) If the MTC is certifying the fitting to be qualified as per ASME B16.9, then can i by default assume that it is qualified by computer analysis or proof test.
3) can you list the articles in ASME B16.9 which list all the methods for qualifying a fitting as per ASME B16.9
Thanks in advance for your help
