Hi, I have one question about Section curvature
change:
According to the assumption of plane of deformed
cross-section (x-y coordinate) and the axial strain being
the linear function of y coordinate,
(ex(+h/2)-ex(-h/2))/h is equal to d(dw/dx)/dx, where
ex(+h/2) is the axial normal strain at section point +h/2( E11 in ABAQUS output),
ex(-h/2) is the similar case; d(dw/dx)/dx is the Section curvature change(SK1 in
ABAQUS output). But I checked more than a dozen of
examples and found that the latter is not equal to the former, there are aound 6-7% discrepancy, SK1 is larger, the phenomena exist for both of the Bernoulli beam and Timoshenko
beam, I'm confused about it.
Would you friend give me some helpful ideas?
You replies are appreciated deeply.

Bests Regards
John
