RE: Question on 1996 AISI Cold Formed Design Manual

On page VI-107 of the Commentary in the above manual, at the top of the page there is a series of equations to satisfy for tilt and bearing stress.

There are two equations for the condition where t2/t1>2.5

There are three equations for the condition where t2/t1<1.0

What governs the situation where 1.0 < t2/t1 < 2.5? Or does that never happen?

There is probably a note that says to interpolate for values of t2/t1 between 1 and 2.5. I don't have my code with me right now to confirm but it is in the 2001 NASPEC, so I expect it in the 1996 also.

Thanks for the note, you were absolutly correct! I did look again and found the note, as you suggested.
