Hi,

Iam curious to know, Does NX license manager allocates a license feature , when I load the NX file which has the feature in the model navigator ? For example, If i built a model with FPC features along side other modeling features. When I load this NX file in Modeling , does License manager allocate a FPC license feature to my workstation because NX sees it has FPC feature in the model navigator ? Does it then unallocate it when I change to Modeling / Drafting ?

I think both yes and no,
i see that If a user has used the advanced assemblies license, NX seems to check that license out as soon as that file is loaded into NX.¨
regarding freeform features such as X-form , i do not think it checks that license until one modifies that specific feature. ( Freeform 2)
Some licenses are also "sticky", - you need to manually deactivate it. The PMI license is an example of this.

You can easily see if or not by looking at the license-log.
- In the flexlm directory where your license exists, there is also a logfile which will note each checkout/check in.

look at logfile

look at logfile
modify feature
look at logfile
close part
look at logfile

Tomas
