Hi, first post here.
I had a flowserve boiler feed pump in the workshop for overhaul. It’s a 3X10WXH - 14, it has two single row angular contact ball bearings at the nde, bevelled washers as springs, shim for bearing and shim for the springs for adjustment.
I’m looking for advice for setting this up as I don’t have much experience with the spring setup.
Am I right in saying the spring will take some of the thrust towards the De until the balance disc comes into play to equalise the thrust. I’d like to better understand how the setup works on this style of pump.
Thanks
M
