Hi All !
OK, I'm not in here much, but pop in when I have a question, I'm NOT a boiler guy, Rather, a wood-gas guy (Biogas), anyhow, here's my questions.
1) I'm running a wood-gas gasifier/reactor (outdoor boiler) BUT, it's NOT a boiler, runs on a suction fan, NOT pressure. Anyhow, once the gas is drawn from the gasifier, it's ignighted at a second burn area, this is the area I need help with.
IF the "flue" gases are 800c (1470f) what would I use for building a flue to water hX ? 304ss comes to mind ??
2) The said hX would need to hold about 40 l (10 gal) of water, the question here is the temp. drop (non condensing) from 900c (1600f) inlet to 400c (750f)outlet on the flue side, and 45c (115f) inlet water, with the outlet water around 85c (185f) at 24 l (6.5 gal.) flow rate, this would be a constant flow rate, with the flue side of things going from 500c to 900c (900f to 1600f) input range (knowing the water side would follow what the flue side was doing).
I know the above is NOT the "norm." but gasifier's are NOT Normal !
I gues what I'm asking is How would I have an hX like this built ????
