We currently use "Advance CAD" to open/edit drawings we receive from our sister company in Japan. But the interface does not port well to non-Japanese reading personnel.

We also have AutoCAD in-house (which most of us are proficient at) so we were wondering if anyone knew of any dependable conversion routines available out there that could do this for us.

Thanks,
Ken

Instead of having japanese do the work, why not have an American firm do the work. In case you are not aware, the US economy is in a shamble partly because Asian countries are underbiding U.S. firms.

Hi kchunk,

I've never heard of Advance CAD so I don't know much about it's capabilities, but you may see if you can have them send you DXF files instead of native Advance CAD files.

chicopee,

Actually the Japanese company is incharge of the Engineering work...they just tell us what to build (they're paying us, not vice versa). Our problems occur because their documatation is not always up-to-date...which means we have to modify the drawings to get the parts made correctly (here in the US).

Thanks,
Ken
