"Part is not a valid version of component part" Error Message

NX 8.5

When loading an assembly i get the following error message

Part XXX - "Part is not a valid version of component part"

(part XXX being a sub assembly within that assembly) all other parts load fine.

I can load part XXX externally from the assembly with no problme, so i am guessing it is something to do with the state of the part, within the actual assembly?

I have made sure it is the latest version that the assembly is looking at, but not sure what else to check?

I have also tried updating the assembly structure with no success?

Any advice would be greatly recieved

Looking through another forum, i have found an "allow replacement" fix, located in the load options.
Although the error still comes up, the part is now loaded, so kind of works?

As you point out, if "allow replacement" is enabled the assembly will load.
When "Allow replacement" is enabled the message is essentially an informational message alerting one if/when the situation is encountered during load of a given assembly. Once the assembly has loaded and the assembly has been saved the message will no longer be displayed.

The message is getting displayed because sub assembly "XXX" is a different part than the original part that the parent assembly had when it was saved. The "XXX" sub assembly was either deleted and recreated or copied at the operating system from a different part file.

Typically this error occurs if you have multiple files with same name on the system (within defined search directories). When NX finds the file "other than saved with" but with same name first it displays subject message.

Its starting to make sense now.

The error message is appearing when loading models that have been migrated from our old Ideas Servers. UDring the 6 month data freeze we had people may of created replicas or imported dumb bodies, hence their being multiples of the same data.
