NX version 7.5: I am editing an existing drawing I did not make myself, but I am trying to edit a view boundary for an existing view. The boundary has been set by a set of curves (lines and arcs) that are dependent on the view itself and move with the view. I understand you can create a sketch that is dependent on the view, but I have been unable to find how to insert a curve that is dependent on the view, that I can use to adjust the view boundary with. Using Information>object gives me what is shown on the attachment. You'll notice the CURVE is dependent on the view, however I can only insert curves on the SHEET and not a view.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you edting an existing Sketch created in a View or are you trying to create something new?

I am trying to create something new as I am unable to edit the existing set of curves. I would also like to note that I don't think the curves are part of a sketch as I am unable to adjust any parameter of them and cannot see a sketch in the part navigator.

Have you tried selecting the View, pressing MB3 and selecting 'Expand'? If the curves were created IN the view itself as none-sketch curves, you should now be able to access them. After words, just press MB3 again and untoggle to 'Expand' option.

You can also create a sketch that is dependent on the view by right clicking on the boundry and selecting the option "Make active sketch view," and then you don't have to expand the view.

That is true, but since the DoBetter stated that it was an existing drawing it's possible that it was created before there was an option to create a sketch in a view without have to to expand it first, in which case the only way that you could access the curves was to expand the view.

Yes, we run into this pretty often as I use the new sketch without having to expand while my co-worker uses the expand and sketch method. The two methods certainly do not work together though. I was just mentioning the way in which DoBetter could creat sketches in the future as it seems he was also having trouble adding new curves that were associative to the view, so I am assuming his sheet was his active sketch view. Also, if the curves weren't part of a sketch and they don't appear when the view is expanded, they may have been erased in the view. You will have to edit the view to make them visible, then you can do whatever you need to with them.
