Good morning all,

Today i have a query about U Stamp and R stamp.

I have two equipment both of them are U stamped made by two differenti manufacturer, after the hydrotest and u stamped i have tò cut both of them and weld each other with a circumferential Joint.
This operation will be done on a differenti workshop.

For my point of view this Is an alteration and r stamp Is reauired

I know that after the manufacturing is completed and the U stamp is made, an R stamp is required for every welding operation.

You should decide who will be the Manufacturer responsible for the completed pressure vessel then they will be the one responsible for getting the final vessel stamped.

See UG-120(c) for partial data reports.

Those parts/components by the different manufacturer can do a partial data report and partial U-stamp.
Once those parts are combined/welded, the final U-Stamp to be done by that manufacturer who completed the equipment.

Unfortunatly Is not a partial data report.

They tested and stamped every single part, i ve already considered your explanation but Is not my case.

Thanks

Talk to your AI and AIA representatives and explain why this was done regarding the different manufacturers and the need to join them together.
