Radiated emissions classification

Hi all and thanks for being here to answer questions.

I am wondering if anyone here can advise me on whether or not the radiated emissions classification depends on how a device is powered. I have been instructed that items that are powered on a private grid are Class B.

Hi Henry,
Not so much on how the device is powered, but where it taps into the electrical grid. For that matter, it isn't just radiated emissions, but also conducted emissions, as well and radiated and conducted susceptibility, and EFT. From a purely regulatory perspective, you're allowed to put out spurious stuff on a private network, but you also need to be immune to more. From a due diligence perspective, one needs to pay attention to the devices that are on whatever network you're connecting to since it isn't as regulated. You may meet the spec, but still cause problems or be affected by something else out there.
