rail bridge loading

hi, am looking at a design and want to use typical rail loadings. I have a document here which is UK based. Shows 4 250Kn point loads 1.6m apart followed by a udl of 80 kn/m. Now heres the question is the loading per rail? i.e. 2 lines for each track. Or is this axle load if you like across bridge and 80 kn/m is line load acting across whatever the width of the bridge is.

Just to clarify i'm not designing a bridge and no one here knows answer as we are not bridge designers, but i need to determine loading pattern.

The only railroad code I know is from The American Railway Engineering And Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA). Sounds like you are in Europe so don't think this will help, but maybe could answer some questions.

You could look in BD37/01 or BS5400. Appendix D of BD37 gives a commentary on the basis behind the loads. I am not a bridge engineer either but I understand it is axle load per lane.

yes looked at those docs but it wasn't clear. I have found from another source now anyway. The loading is split between rails. So 250 is split 125 each side or dispersed through sleepers and ballast (if ballasted). Thanks for the help guys.
