Hi !!

I am designing a pressure vessel where NO RADIOGRAPHY is required for the shell, but during the nozzle arrangement, some nozzles confront with the seams (It's inevitable),Can some one tell me whether the seam must be fully radiographed as permitted by the ASME code or the condition of NO RADIOGRAPHY would be applied ..

Here is some advice, you need to review ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Div 1. I would expect that if you are designing this vessel to Section VIII, Div 1 you would already know this????

Per ASME, a nozzle thru a weld seam requires RT for a distance of 3 times the nozzle diameter. This is true even if the rest of the vessel receives no RT.
