Hi all,
There was another thread similar, however we have the following dilemma.
We are looking to fit 150lb raised face 316SS valves into CS pipe that will have flat flanges. I read the other post about ring gaskets, however is there a problem here? As the valves are not Cast Iron they come standard with RF and not FF flanges. (It seems CI have 125lb FF flanges)
Is this a problem with SS flanges and CS Flat Faced flanges?
If it was 1 valve I probably would just get them machined off, but there are about 150 going to be put in next month.
Help/comments would be appreciated.

If you don't have any Cast Iron flanges or valves, then you don't have a problem. It is perfectly OK to bolt up FF carbon steel flanges to stainless steel RF flanged valves. Ring cut gaskets are OK too.

Thanks,
I feel better now.

If life were easy....we'd all be doing it.

I agree with Mr NozzleTwister on SS/RF to CS/FF flange bolt up, But you might look at putting insulating gasket kits at those connections because of the dissimilar metals. ...Mark
